DAY 1 – BORDEAUX
After your arrival you have a transportation to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
DAY 2 – BORDEAUX
Discover the city’s most beautiful monuments, including the Grand Théâtre, Place des Quinconces, and the Girondins Monument. Discover the facades of the 18th-century quays, the varied districts, filled with antique shops, and the side streets of Old Bordeaux. Overnight in your hotel.
DAY 3 – BORDEAUX – TOULOUSE
In the morning you pick up the car and drive about 250 km to Toulouse, where you have your accommodation in the hotel. In the afternoon we can arrange for you a lavender garden tour, where you can get to know a bit about the world of bees with a visit to an apiary and a lavender field in the beautiful French countryside. This immersive experience gives you a chance to learn about the hardworking insects, their importance in the ecosystem, and some of the dangers that threaten them. Overnight in the hotel in Toulouse.
Day 4 – TOULOUSE
Your day at leisure to feel the atmosphere of Toulouse and explore the hidden corners, and the narrow meandering streets of this amazing city on the river Garonna. Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 5 – TOULOUSE – CARCASSONE – MONTPELLIER
Do you know the table game Carcassone? After about one hour of driving, you have an amazing chance to explore the city of Carcassone with its impressive medieval castle. You have time to wander around and you can enjoy lunch with the unique view. After the step into medieval times, you continue to the city of Montpellier where you can go sightseeing or just go further south and relax on the beach. Overnight in the hotel in Montpellier.
DAY 6 – MONTPELLIER – NIMES – AVIGNON
In France, almost every city is a medieval jewel. Today, you’re heading to Nimes, where you can find the Roman aquaduct, the ancient amphitheatre, the fountain gardens, or Maison Carrée – one of the best preserved Roman temple façades to be found in the territory of the former Roman Empire and the only completely preserved temple of the ancient world. Then you drive to Avignon, another French city with unique architecture. French people have a song about the bridge in Avignon: “On the bridge of Avignon, everyone is dancing!” Grab a glass of French wine and see for yourself whether the song is true. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 7 – AVIGNON – MARSEILLE
Today you’re heading to Marseille, your first city on the Azure Coast and the second largest city in France. You arrive to your hotel and will have all day long to enjoy the atmosphere of this coastal city. You have a city pass, so take advantage of free entry to many museums, unlimited transport around the city, and discounts at various shops and attractions. Join a guided tour of Marseille Old Town, enjoy a boat ride to Chateau d’If or visit the Natural History Museum. Choose your own sightseeing tour and go where you please, when you please. Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 8 – MARSEILLE – PROVENCE
Grab your camera for a day spent among the fragrant purple flowers and the sun-soaked stone villages of Provence on this outing to the Plateau de Valensole, famed for its seemingly endless fields of lavender. Along the way, take in some of the prettiest vistas and most dramatic natural scenery of the region.
Meet your guide in the centre of Aix and hop into a comfortable vehicle, then listen to your knowledgeable guide sharing facts about the region as you journey through the countryside. Cruise through the lush Val de Durance on your way to the Plateau de Valensole, where you wind down narrow lanes surrounded by banks of violet-hued blooms. Stop to snap photos of the lavender fields and spend some time at the shop and farm of a small-scale lavender producer, where you can shop for lavender essential oils, lavender honey and other regional products like olive oil. Overnight in Marseille.
DAY 9 – MARSEILLE – NICE
The next leg of your journey is to Nice. You can go along the coast to enjoy the view and make a short stop in Saint Tropez (where the movie “The troops of Saint Tropez” was filmed) and in Cannes (where the famous movie fest is held) or just head to Nice where you will stay. If you wish, you can visit Monaco, the second smallest state in the world. Notice that Monaco is built in the hills and on different levels which are connected by lifts. Overnight in Nice.
DAY 10 – NICE
The gateway to the stunning French Riviera, Nice has a diverse, fascinating blend of sophisticated, youthful and sun-seeking individuals. Join this exciting tour to get a complete overview of the city, from the wealthy suburb of Cimiez to the largest Orthodox church outside Russia. The afternoon is at your leisure, overnight in your hotel.
DAY 11 – DEPARTURE
According to your flight tickets you drop off the car at the airport and fly back home.
