TOUR DESCRIPTION

Experience the best of this old-world region on a journey through enchanting Central Europe. Travel to “free” Amsterodam, then continue to the British islands and visit London. You will not miss the cultural city of Paris with all its sights, Austrian Salzburg and Vienna, from where you set out for one day visits to Prague and Budapest and you finish your journey in Italy, Venice and Rome. Realy busy 26 days you will never ever forget! You visit not only cities but also the mountain range of the Alps.

Day 1 – Arrival in Amsterdam
Welcome to Amsterdam. If you want to save some money, take a train from the airport to the city centre. It leaves every 10 minutes, takes only 15 – 20 minutes to reach the city and costs less than 4 Euros. If you do not fancy going by train, we´ll arrange a transfer for you (optinal service). The rest of the day is free. Overnight in 3* hotel in Amsterdam.

Day 2 – City tour and canal cruise
Amsterdam is an amazing city, so do not waste your time and go by a touristbus for a unique city tour that takes you to all the major landmarks that Amsterdam is so rich of. Admire the famous canals with their beautiful, elegant canal houses, towers and bridges. You will also see interesting sites, such as the Royal Palace, Dam Square, the Western Church, the Skinny Bridge, Amsterdam’s tallest windmill and the major museums and attractions. About half way, you will make a stop at the famous Gassan Diamonds factory, where you will enjoy a free guided tour. Undoubtedly Holland’s number one tourist attraction, a canal cruise is an absolute must during your stay in Amsterdam! Amsterdam is a city of water and its 100 canals and 1,000 bridges are famous throughout the world. So the second part of the tour will take you for a canal cruise. The rest of the day is at leisure, overnight in 3* hotel in Amsterdam.

Day 3 – Dutch countryside
The next morning at 9:30 you will leave for another magnificent day. This tour covers the magnificent area of the picturesque Dutch polder landscape north of Amsterdam, marked by windmills, dikes and ditches. After stopping to taste some traditionally made products at a cheese farm, we will visit the picturesque villages of Edam and Zaanse Schans, where you will have the opportunity to visit a windmill and a wooden shoe factory. We will then continue to Volendam and Marken, fishermen’s villages along the former Zuiderzee. Marken used to be an island until it was connected to the mainland by a dike. Some people of both places still wear the traditional costumes. You get back to Amsterdam in the afternoon. Have a rest in a coffee shop before returning to your hotel for a night. Day 4 – Departure to London
Depending on your flight schedule make your way by train to the airport (optional service – airport transfer). Here you catch your flight to London. After landing in the capital of UK you will be driven to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in 3* hotel in London.

Day 5 – London Sightseeing
You will be eager to get know the city for sure. And there are too many interesting places to see in London. So it´s a good idea to participate in a “Hop-on-hop-off bus tour” to get easily to the Houses of Parliament, 10 Downing Street – the residence of the Prime Minister and Big Ben. You should not miss a visit to Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey and Piccadilly Circus. Art fans should surely visit the National Gallery. In the evening enjoy the atmosphere of one of the local pubs and bars. Overnight in 3* hotel in London.

Day 6 – Exploring the city on your own
Ride a two-storey London bus to the St. Paul’s Cathedral (entrance in free), Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Millennium Bridge, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. And what about having a ride on the London Eye to enjoy a superb lookout? We can book tickets for you (optional). Cap off the beautiful day with a cruise on the River Thames (optional tour). At night, get ready to track down the legendary Jack the Ripper (optional tour) in the narrow and twisted lanes of London’s East End by foot… if you dare! Overnight in 3* hotel in London. Day 7 – London – Paris
It´s another transfer day. You can either fly from London to Paris, or take a train going underneath the English, or La Manche (in French) Chanel. We will arrange transfer from the station or airport to the hotel for you. Overnight in 3* hotel in Paris.

Day 8 – Paris city tour
In the morning you can sleep long after your flight. But later, get ready for an eventful day in Paris! See the best of Paris in just one-and-a-half hours. Discover the city, with our famous double decker buses and recorded commentaries on many famous landmarks and monuments such as the Opera, Champs Elysees, Arch of Triumph, Eiffel tower, Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral. This is a great way to get acquainted with Paris. Then you can continue and explore the city on your own. Overnight in 3* hotel in Paris.

Day 9 – The Louvre
It´s time to skip the line and visit the biggest museum in the world without queuing. Our famous Grand Louvre walking tour begins with a stroll through the commercial area of the Louvre Museum. The visit continues inside the museum where our guide presents various sections such as the medieval fortress, the modern pyramid, the Egyptian department and the most reputed masterpieces such as the “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo da Vinci. This tour lets you skip the normal lines to the Louvre. Spend more time exploring the museum by avoiding the queue. You are in France so enjoy some wine and cheese for late lunch when you leave the Louvre. The rest of the day is at leisure, we can arrange for you a dinner at the Eiffel Tower, with a Seine cruise, followed by vivacious nightlife at the cabaret at Moulin Rouge (optional tour). Overnight in 3* hotel in Paris.

Day 10 – Versailles Palace and gardens
Versailles is more than a palace surrounded with beautiful gardens. It also has a huge park where one can discover two lovely castles named Grand and Petit Trianons, former summer residences for the Kings who wanted to rest and forget about the “Etiquette” of the Court. This tour is perfect for travelers who prefer to explore on their own pace. The whole time in Versailles is designated as free time so one can wander the Apartments and the gardens to their heart’s content. An audio guide (with earphones) is provided on the tour. Let´s witness the magnificence of the Versailles Palace, with its dazzling hall of mirrors, exquisite furnishing, superb paintings, and enormous gardens before the marvelous three days in Paris come to an end. Appreciate the grandeur of classical French architecture and extravagant decoration of this former home of kings. Overnight in 3* hotel in Paris..

Day 11 – Paris – Vienna
It´s time to pack your luggage again to be driven to the airport and to fly to the city of waltz and classical music, Vienna. An English-speaking guide will take you by car to your hotel close to the city centre. Overnight in 3* hotel in Vienna..

Day 12 – Vienna city tour and Schoenbrunn
After breakfast you set off for a half-day city tour which will give you an overall impression of the most significant Vienna sights. You will start the ride on the Ringstrasse, where we show you numerous magnificent buildings, such as the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts, the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and Natural History, the Parliament, the City Hall, the University, the Votive Church or Urania. The highlight of this tour will be a visit of the impressive Schonbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Habsburg family. Afternoon program is left at your discretion. Explore the city deeper and don´t forget to taste the famous chocolate Sachertorte (cake). Overnight in 3* hotel in Vienna.

Day 13 – Prague from Vienna
Vienna is perfectly located, to reach Prague and Budapest easily. So we will manage to voist those two cities in the two comming days. After a drive through the characteristic landscape of Moravia, we will reach Prague, the golden city on the banks of the Vltava river. Possibility for lunch. Afterward, we drive to Hradcany (Royal Palace) and, in the afternoon, we will take you on an extensive city tour showing you the wonderful panorama of the city from Charles bridge, the National Theater, the elegant residences on the Vltava river banks, the Jewish cemetery (individual visit if possible), the Parisian street, the old town square and Wencels square. There will be certainly enough time for shopping or exploring the old quarters of Prague. Return to Vienna at around 8 pm. Overnight in 3* hotel in Vienna.

Day 14 – Budapest from Vienna
Another day and another full day trip. You will be driven at 7,15 am. through the enchanting countryside of western Hungary to Budapest, a city rich in traditions, situated on the banks of the Danube (time for lunch). In the afternoon during an extensive city tour through the districts of Buda and Pest, you will be able to appreciate the historical and cultural importance of this city. At 17:00 we start the return journey to Vienna. Overnight in 3* hotel in Vienna.

Day 15 – From Vienna to Salzburg by train
You will have a wonderful opportunity to see Austrian countryside while you take a train from Vienna to Salzburg. Train Ticket 2nd class incl. seat reservation is included. The journey takes some 2.5 hours only. Overnight in a 3* hotel in Salzburg.

Day 16 – Mozart city tour
After breakfast you will be picked up at the hotel to go for a morning Mozart City Tour of Salzburg. The tour starts at Mirabell Palace and you will see the most important sights (no inside visits) as the Mozarteum, the Marionette Theatre, the landestheatre, the Trinity Church, Mozart´s Livingplace, Hellbrunn palace, the Palace Frohnburg, the Festival Halls, the Horse Pond and finally the Mozart´s Square with the famous Mozart Statue, Cathedral, Getreidegasse and the Residence of the Archbishops. Afternoon at leisure for independent sightseeing or shopping. Overnight in 3* hotel in Salzburg.

Day 17 – Eagle’s Nest
After breakfast you set off for a halfday tour to the Eagle´s Nest (the tour runs from May till October, from November till April you will do a Sound of Music Tour instead). The Eagel´s Nest tour will take you over the German boarder to Bavaria. The first stop is over the area of “Obersalzberg”, which was once used as a base of the Third Reich, the area where Hitler, Goehring and Bormann once had property. From the “Obersalzberg” you change to a special bus for an amazing journey to the 6,5 km (4 miles) long road to the Eagle´s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus). The journey is an amazing adventure and once you arrive in the upper car park a 124 m long tunnel leades you into the mountain. Once inside the mountaine the lift takes you within less than a minute directly up to the Eagle´s Nest building. There will be some free time to explore the old conference room, dining area and a small tea room with terraces, with your guide explaining all the history relating to this interesting area. After returning back to the valley, there will be a short stop in Berchtesgaden before returning to Salzburg. Overnight in 3* hotel in Salzburg..

Day 18 – Lake and mountains tour
On this tour, you can experience the breathtaking beauty of one of Austria’s most beautiful regions – the lake district just beyond the gates of Salzburg. With a view down to Salzburg we begin our excursion to the scenic and historical landmarks of the surroundings. We will point out the impressive hunting castle Fuschl, today a luxury hotel, where the Prince Archbishops spent many seasons. In St. Wolfgang, there is time to visit the famous winged Gothic altar by Michael Pacher and a stop at the ‘White Horse Inn’ for refreshments. From St. Wolfgang, we will go to St. Gilgen on the other side of Lake St. Wolfgang. After 25 minutes we will land in St. Gilgen, where Mozart’s mother was born. Passing Castle Hüttenstein we continue along the Mondsee. The ever changing and contrasting scenery will make this tour an unforgettable memory. The tour includes coffee and cake and a boat cruise. Return back to Salzburg. Free afternoon. Overnight in 3* hotel in Salzburg.

Day 19 – Salzburg – Venice
Another day on the train awaits you. You will head South, to Italy, to Venice by train. Accommodation in hotel.

Day 20 – Venice walk and canal boat tour
Enjoy two diverse tours which will give you a comprehensive introduction to the world’s most beautiful and unique city. Start with a walking tour of hidden backstreets and end with a cruise through a labyrinth of small canals. During the boat ride, you’ll get to see the beautiful and imposing palaces and churches that line the banks of the Grand Canal. Learn about the history of the Grand Canal, how it has developed over the centuries into the most beautiful street in the world. Overnight in a 3* hotel in Venice.

Day 21 – Venice on your own
The fairytale city is laden with attractions. Admire majestic Piazza San Marco, flanked by St Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace and travel by vaporetto (waterbus) along Venice’s canals, passing Rialto Bridge, Bridge of Sighs and lavish palazzo apartments. Stroll aimlessly in the Jewish Quarter in Canareggio near St Lucia station and visit Burano Island’s colourful houses. Or try a Gondola ride. If you fancy a mountain visit, you can go to the Dolomites for a whole day trip. Today´s program depends just and only on you. Overnight in a 3* hotel in Venice.

Day 22 – Venice – Rome
Last European flight awaits you today. You will fly from Venice to Rome. A driver will take you from the airport you your hotel close to the city centre. Overnight in a 3* hotel in Rome.

Day 23 – Rome city tour
Witness Michelangelo’s work at the Capitol Square. Visit the oldest part of the city, Forum Romanum and the Colosseum. Hasten to the Spanish Steps at Piazza di Spagna, throw a coin at the Trevi Fountain and admire the afternoon light at the Pantheon. You will take the Open Bus Hop-On Hop Off Tour in Rome, which is the best way to explore the city at your own leisure by hopping on and off as you please and see Rome in your own time. The buses make many stops in the most beautiful, cultural and evocative locations in the Eternal city and you get the best picture of the city and do not miss any famous sights. Finally, enjoy Rome by night on the deck of a cruise ship (optional tour). Overnight in a 3* hotel in Rome.

Day 24 – Ancient Rome tour
After breakfast, experience all of Ancient Rome, skipping the lines on this half-day tour which covers the Colosseum Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Your tour will begin atop Colle Oppio (“Opium Hill”) with a panoramic view of the Colosseum. From there we will descend to the Colosseum. Once inside, an expert guide will talk you through the bloody past of the amphitheatre as you listen to tales of gladiators, mock sea-battles and executions. After a brief rest at the Arch of Constantine, you will arrive at the Palatine Hill- the most famous of the 7 hills of Rome. From here you will admire the views of the Roman Forum and Nero’s Circus Maximus where chariot races were once held. Romulus and Remus were said to have been found on the Palatine by the she-wolf who nursed and raised them. Legend holds that Romulus went on to found Rome. The last stop is a walk along the “Via Sacra” or “Sacred Way” which is the main path through the Roman Forum that once sparkled with festivals and triumphal processions. It ends at the Temple which houses the altar where Julius Caesar was cremated. Visitors from around the world still leave flowers and candles at this site today. Night in the hotel.

Day 25 – Vatican tour
Good idea is to spend the third day in the Vatican and to discover its wonders – museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. Vatican is a “city inside of a city”. If you get tired, enjoy a slice of pizza or a plate of spaghetti during a lunch break. Later in the day you can head on to the Jewish Ghetto (optional tour, see below) for more of history or just relax with a cup of coffee in one of the cafés. Overnight in a 3* hotel in Rome.

Day 26 – Departure
If you do not wish to extend your stay in Rome, it´s time to say goodbye and leave Rome today. We will arrange transfer to the airport for you so that you catch your flight home. End of our services.
